Project Description

This remodel centers on a modern minimalist approach defined by contrast, restraint, and material continuity. A black marble fireplace grounds the living room, establishing a strong visual counterpoint to the home’s predominantly light palette. Paired with streamlined cabinet hardware and simplified detailing, the black-and-white foundation feels intentional rather than stark.

Walking in, you are greeted with a modern, illuminated display cabinet in the entry designed to showcase Veuve Clicquot champagne.
White oak cabinetry and accents run throughout the home, softening the contrast and creating cohesion from space to space. In the kitchen, the cabinetry provides warmth against clean-lined surfaces, while the butler’s pantry introduces Cloé 5” x 5” white ceramic tile as a subtle moment of texture. Limiting the tile to this secondary space keeps the primary kitchen visually quiet and uncluttered.

The kitchen is anchored by an ILVE Majestic 48-inch range, serving as both a functional centerpiece and visual anchor. Strategically the design team and client chosen luxe gold finishes on the plumbing fixtures which complement the range, adding subtle warmth and depth without breaking the restrained palette.
Large folding doors extend the living area outward, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor transition, which also extends into the California room.

Upstairs In the primary suite, polished Calacatta marble unifies the shower, countertops, and closet island. Repeating the same stone across surfaces reduces visual noise and reinforces the minimalist intent.
Throughout the home, the consistency of materials and disciplined use of contrast are what make the design feel balanced and resolved and one of the many benefits of working with the GM Design Team
